https://upload.wikimedia.org/ CS Lewis was a marvelous author who became very famous through the works of his books. He was born in Belfast, Ireland where he was raised by his father, Albert Lewis. Lewis was raised during the time when many people where afraid of getting sick. Belfast had a poor sewer system and cramped conditions created a breeding area for disease and sickness. Because of this, whenever it would rain he was forced to come inside and daydream. His mother died when he was the age of 12 and it affected him greatly, losing the role of his mother which he w later replace with a Mrs.Moore. Lewis's brother was a drunk and he soon found friendship with one who would be his dearest and life long friend, J.R.R Tolkien.
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
― C.S. Lewis
Lewis served in World War 1 and was scarred by the events around it, which forever affected his writing. The books that he wrote which made him so famous were Out of the Silent Planet, The Screwtape Letters and the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Many scholars who have studied the works of Lewis today agree that his best works of fiction were these three books. CS Lewis contributed very much to today's literature. He has inspired many authors and readers to think in a different new way. One of the most important things that CS Lewis contributed to the world of literature is Christian literature. Before Lewis, there were no books that had writing style like his; adventurous, gripping and deep philosophical themes all relating to Christianity. With his books many people were able to come to know Christ or at least be more aware and understanding of the Christian religion.
